This one-of-a-kind piece was inspired by the idea of how ancient treasures or fossils which have remained deeply buried for eons can sometimes become revealed. It is humbling to hold in my hands a thing so old, which was once alive, protected by the earth for millions of years. Inspired by this fossilized ammonite, I designed the pin to suggest the way archeologists or naturalists uncover long-buried remains. Different metals embedded within the silver are partially revealed, the rough surfaces suggesting that more lies beneath.
